About This Project

The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction by Walter Benjamin is an essay of cultural criticism which proposes that the aura of a work of art is devalued by mechanical reproduction. Topics discussed in the essay has influenced a vast range of fields from architectural theory to art history.

In this book I have applied Benjamin’s theories to street art. This meant looking at street art’s increasing popularity and how society values street art now compared to before.
